He first started to kayak at the age of 12, when he was introduced to this fantastic sport through the sea cadets. From his first weekend kayaking, he was hooked and kayaking soon became much more than just an occasional thing. He worked hard on his skills and then started to coach younger cadets under the guidance of other coaches.
After discovering his passion for the sport TJ went to work for PGL as an activity instructor to further both his knowledge and his qualifications and more importantly to have fun teaching new people the joys of paddling. Since then he has delivered hundreds of hours of sessions to children aged 7 – 17.
Still working for PGL, TJ uses his qualifications and experiences to plan and deliver BCU training to develop instructors as one of their Assisitant Chief Instructors.
