Mike is an Aspirant Level Five Kayak Coach, Level Three Sea Coach and an A3 Assessor. He first went kayaking at the age of eight as a cub scout and has been paddling ever since. Mike still remembers that first time in a kayak and the delight of finding a sport that didn't require kicking, hitting, throwing or catching a ball!

With fifteen years of coaching through the Sea Cadets and St. Davids Kayak Club, Mike has introduced people of all ages to the sport and helped youngsters from Fishguard to make the South West Area team and win at the National Sea Cadet Regattas, for many years running.

When Mike isn't working he can be found running the white water rivers of Wales, kayak-surfing at the local breaks or heading out on a sea trip. He has paddled and led groups all over the UK and in the French Alps.

Mike is also the Canoe Wales Community Coach for South West Wales, providing support and mentoring for club coaches and leaders between training and assessment. Please contact me to benefit from this.
